Dubai Chamber of Commerce enhances the arrival of local companies to the world

Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three rooms of the Dubai Chambers, is continuing its strategic efforts to enhance the external expansion of Emirati companies from Dubai towards the world, through its pioneering initiative, “new horizons for external expansion” launched in 2023, to support the entry of local companies to global markets, and expand their commercial and investment presence outside the country.

The number of countries that the Dubai Chamber of Commerce organized commercial missions to about 20 countries around the world, especially Asia and Africa, has reached since the start of the initiative in the beginning of 2023.

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce launched this initiative as part of its strategy to enhance Dubai’s economic competitiveness, in line with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agency D33, and the “Dubai Global” initiative that seeks to help Dubai companies explore new trade opportunities across 30 priority markets.

In 2023, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce organized seven commercial missions as part of the initiative that continued its momentum in 2024, when the Dubai Chamber of Commerce organized commercial missions to eight countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Senegal, Morocco, Turkey, Serbia, Tanzania and Uganda. The Chamber also succeeded in the same year in supporting the expansion of 114 local companies to new global markets, with a growth of 48% compared to 77 local companies, which were supported in 2023.

In 2025, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce organized, within the framework of the initiative, four commercial missions to Angola, Mozambique, the Philippines and Thailand, during which dozens of companies in Dubai supported external expansion opportunities, including 19 companies within the mission to Mozambique, 20 companies to Angola, 17 companies to the Philippines, and 20 companies to Thailand.

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce affirmed its commitment to support the aspirations of its members to expand towards markets of strategic importance around the world, by providing the necessary support and facilitating access to commercial and investment opportunities, which contributes to strengthening Dubai’s position as a global business and trade center.

The Vice President of International Relations in the Chambers of Dubai, Salem Al Shamsi, said that “the initiative (new horizons for external expansion) aims to enable companies in Dubai to enter promising international markets, which was proven by the experience during the past two years, as commercial missions organized by the initiative formed the first starting point abroad for many local companies in the Emirate of Dubai.”

He explained that these missions are a qualitative step to strengthen the network of companies operating in Dubai, and to support the expansion of the local product abroad. A number of officials in companies participating in commercial missions organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce said that the “new horizons for external expansion” has become one of the most effective tools for linking manufacturers in the UAE to international markets.

They stressed the importance of the initiative in enhancing the presence of national products in the global markets, especially in the rapid trading consumer commodity sector, noting that their participation in the missions within an official delegation represents Dubai gives a stronger impression on potential partners, and enhances the opportunities to hold sustainable strategic partnerships.
