Cardoso continues with Al Ain with a 29 shirt and plays in the World Cup

“Emirates Today” learned that the Portuguese defender, Fabio Cardoso, will continue his career with Al Ain Club in the 2025 Club World Cup, which starts in the United States after less than two weeks, and is the biggest version in the history of the tournament with the participation of 32 teams.

Cardoso will wear the No. 29 shirt, after the new Moroccan expatriate Yahya Ben Khalq got the number (4) that the Portuguese defender carried throughout the season.

Despite the mystery that was recently surrounded by the club, the club administration decided to remain until the end of his loan period from the Portuguese club Porto.

In a move that reflects the confidence of the technical blood staff, the Serbian coach, Vladimir Evic, called for the couple team, Hazem Abbas and Nigerian resident Halro Sarki, to the ranks of the first team, to support technical options during the World Cup clubs.

The duo had played a pivotal role in crowning the “leader” with the title of under -23 professional league, after a fierce competition with the unit, which reflects the success of the Al Ain project in enabling emerging talents, and opens the doors of hope for the rest of the academy players.

Al -Ain Club also announced yesterday, through its official account in the application «X», the return of the wing, Jonatas Santos, to the ranks of Al Ain Club, after the end of his loan to Al -Wasl, and the player will wear the No. 11 shirt that remained associated with the captain of the team, Bandar Al -Ahbabi, and the latter had joined during the past months of the national service.

Al Ain begins his career in the world championship with a fiery confrontation against Juventus on Thursday, June 19 at the Audi Field in the American capital, Washington, before Manchester City met on Monday, June 23 in the “Mercedes Benz Stadium” in Atlanta, and concludes the group stage with the Moroccan Wydad meeting on Sunday, June 26 at the “Audi Field” stadium.

Al Ain represents the UAE in this global forum as the AFC Champions League champion 2024, after a distinguished career sealed with the continental coronation, to become the first Emirati team to participate in the expanded version of the Club World Cup.

The fans of the “violet leader” hope that its team will repeat the historical achievement in the 2018 edition, when the final was courageously against Real Madrid, confirming its full support for the representative of Emirati football in this great event.

Bani Yas Football Club has sent an official letter to Al Ain Club, signed in the name of the new CEO, Saqr Al -Maskari, in which he officially requests the services of the midfielder, Khaled Al -Balushi, to be on the “Heavenly” list during the next season.
