Free and drought threaten the wheat crop in China

Parts of the Chinese “wheat belt” were damaged in the sections of Shenchi and Hanan severely as a result of the hot and dry weather, as the sun caused the soil crack and burned the wheat crop before it is ripe.
Last month, Shenchi recorded the highest average temperature since the start of the data recorded in 1961, exceeding the 1940s, and while the official numbers will be issued after about six weeks, he reached more than 12 farmers in the region about losses and little harvest, which decreased by half of some.
In some parts of the province, the drought was so severe that farmers presented the harvest a week, and although the rains fell in recent days, it brought some comfort, it also threatened to disable the harvest for those who were waiting for it.
It is too early to know if drought will push China to import more wheat, although this will be a good news for farmers in places like Australia that expects high wheat stocks at the end of the season, partly due to the decrease in Chinese imports.
