Committee "Federal National" It discusses the policy of achieving the national security of pharmaceutical industries and medical supplies

Abu Dhabi, June 12 / WAM / The Committee for Technology, Energy and Mineral Resources in the Federal National Council discussed, during its meeting today, Thursday, headed by His Excellency Dr. Nidal Mohamed Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Committee, the subject of the government’s policy in achieving national security for pharmaceutical industries and medical supplies, in the presence of representatives of the Emirates Drug Corporation.

The members of the committee were attended by Aisha Ibrahim Al -Marri, the committee’s decision, Muhammad Issa Al -Shafah, Walid Falah Al -Mansouri, and Hilal Muhammad Al -Kaabi, members of the Federal National Council.

The committee discussed the most prominent challenges facing the pharmaceutical industries sector and medical supplies, the mechanism of enhancing local production and stimulating investments in this sector, resettlement efforts, developing national competencies, promoting research, development and innovation in the pharmaceutical field.
The committee also reviewed a specialized study prepared by researchers of the Council’s General Secretariat, on the budget allocated to support the pharmaceutical industries, and the initiatives and programs adopted by the state to ensure the achievement of drug security in this vital sector.
The committee discusses the subject according to the axes, the sustainability of the pharmaceutical industries and medical products, enhancing access to medicines and medical supplies and their impact on the quality of life, and the enhanced legislation for investment and innovation and ensuring the quality of pharmaceutical industries and medical supplies.
