Hamdan bin Zayed: The Red Crescent Authority initiatives enhance goals "The general community" In compassion, solidarity and societal cohesion

Abu Dhabi, June 12 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al -Dhafra region, Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, confirmed that the authority’s initiatives during the first third of this year strengthened the goals of the “Year of Society”, by consolidating the values of compassion, solidarity and societal cohesion, and contributed to activating humanitarian initiatives, enhancing social ties, and consolidating the concepts of common social responsibility.
His Highness pointed out that the commission will continue its efforts in this direction, with a focus on enhancing its response to humanitarian needs within the state, and expanding its domestic aid and programs, stressing that what has been achieved in qualitative and quantitative expansion in the authority’s programs and increasing the number of beneficiaries of it at the state level, came thanks to the directives of the rational leadership, represented by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, who has made humanitarian action to be a top priority He was keen to consolidate an integrated system of social solidarity, which contributed to achieving a qualitative shift in humanitarian programs and enhancing its positive impact on the lives of citizens and residents, and this also contributed to the support of the benefactors and the cooperation of local partners, as well as the spread of the branches of the authority and its offices in various emirates of the state.
This came during the presidency of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, today, the second meeting of the Authority’s Board of Directors for this year, which was held at the Palm Palace in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, His Highness conveyed the rational leadership of the prominent humanitarian and development role that the authority plays in many countries around the world, praising its current efforts in a number of countries facing humanitarian challenges, especially the Gaza Strip.
His Highness praised the active role played by the Board of Directors in directing the authority’s march towards more excellence in performance and giving, stressing that the leadership of the authority in the fields of humanitarian work is an incentive to double efforts to alleviate human suffering and safeguard human dignity.
His Highness added: We pay great attention to our local programs, and we are constantly working to keep pace with human developments through qualitative initiatives that meet the needs of the targeted groups, and strengthen our societal role by adopting innovative ideas, expanding the support base from donors and supportive bodies, and building effective partnerships that support the efforts of the Red Crescent on the local scene.
His Highness also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the benefactors for their continuous support for the authority’s march, praising the role of volunteers and its workers in promoting humanitarian work and raising the level of response to community initiatives.
The meeting, which was attended by His Excellency Dr. Hamdan Muslim Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors, members of the Council, and the Secretary -General of the Authority, discussed a number of axes that contribute to developing the performance of the authority and upgrading its humanitarian initiatives to broader horizons.
During the meeting, the Board of Directors also discussed the development plans, programs and future vision to enhance the role of the Red Crescent in the humanitarian and developmental fields, and the Council reviewed the reports of the commission’s achievements during the first third of the current year inside and outside the country, and the Council stressed to move forward in the same approach that the authority has planned to enhance the role of the leading UAE in the humanitarian work regionally and internationally, and to go to areas welcomed to serve all humanity, without looking at any considerations Religious, political, sectarian, or ethnic.
