41 private schools will not be modified for the next academic year in Dubai

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai revealed that the total number of private schools in Dubai, whose fees will not be adjusted for the next academic year 2025-2026, are about 41 schools, including 20 schools that were not three years old, and 21 private schools decided to keep their fees unchanged for the same academic year.

The authority said, in exclusive statements to «Emirates Today», that every guardian can see the school fees in the school of its children by reading the school’s contract carefully, in addition to the school graphics card approved for each private school in the emirate, available through the authority’s website and applying them to smartphones.

She emphasized that the value of the index for the next academic year is 2.35%, which is the maximum approved, in the event that schools want to amend their fees for the academic year 2025-2026.

She explained that the education cost index is a measure of understanding of expenses and costs related to providing educational services in qualified private schools, and includes a set of factors and costs, including wages and salaries for members of the administrative and teaching bodies, support and support services, as well as rental costs.

The commission stated that it directed a circular to all the profitable private schools in the emirate, in which it called for the desire to amend its fees for the academic year 2025-2026 to submit its requests for study and accreditation, provided that the increase does not exceed the maximum specified in accordance with the approved cost of education, and at the same time stressed the need for schools to adhere to the approved controls and standards, stressing that any amendment in the fees is subject to review and prior approval.

The authority confirmed that a specialized team of qualified cadres will review and study requests to amend the fees submitted by private schools, to ensure their full commitment to the conditions and controls approved within the applicable organizational procedures. She explained that these procedures do not allow private schools that were not previously started in Dubai, to submit applications to raise their academic fees for the next academic year 2025-2026, in order to ensure the stability of the educational environment and ensure that the parents do not download additional financial burdens in the founding stages of the school.

She said: “The cost of education is based on a scientific methodology aimed at helping private schools in Dubai to achieve the optimal management of its resources, and to ensure the sustainability of the quality of school education in Dubai to meet the needs of parents.”

She pointed out that following a sustainable mechanism for the governance of school fees in private schools in Dubai reflects the authority’s keenness to consolidate the principle of transparency within a flexible and efficient educational system, in line with Dubai’s status, an attractive international destination for distinguished education, and its targets in the education strategy in Dubai 2033.

The authority revealed the study of more than 20 requests to open new private schools during the next two years, which provides various educational options for the parents of students in Dubai, at a time when 15 new private schools have been opened during the past two academic years.

She explained that the total number of private schools in Dubai reached 227 schools that receive 387 thousand and 441 male and female students belonging to 185 nationalities, noting that the opening of new schools is in line with growth in the numbers of students enrolled in the private school education system in Dubai with indicators of education strategy 33, which aims to open at least 100 new private schools by 2033, and contribute to enriching the diversity of the educational scene in Dubai, To meet the educational needs of the Emiratis and residents of the emirate, by providing high -quality education, it is based on the quality of students ’life and is commensurate with various cultures.
