24 citizens were arrested for planning to finance terrorist entities

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior foiled a plan aimed at compromising the security of the nation and financing terrorist entities. The State Security Service was able to arrest 24 citizens, one of whom had his citizenship revoked, in possession of sums of money related to illegal acts, in addition to monitoring and exposing 8 citizens fleeing outside the country, one of whom had his citizenship revoked, as part of an organized activity represented in collecting money under religious names, and receiving and keeping it in preparation for transferring it according to instructions from outside the country.

The Ministry of Interior explained in a statement that the defendants used commercial and professional entities as fronts to pass the money, and used precise methods to transfer it by distributing it to several people to transport it by air and land with the intention of avoiding suspicion. Legal measures were taken against them and they were referred to the competent authorities, with investigations continuing to uncover the rest of those involved.
