The Iraqi Parliament elects Nizar Amidi as President of the Republic of Iraq
The Iraqi Parliament elected Nizar Amidi as President of the Republic of Iraq, during a session held today, Saturday, to elect a new president for the country for the next four years.
The session was attended by 223 deputies out of a total of 329 deputies in the Iraqi Parliament.
In the first round, 17 candidates competed for the position.
