"Pen for creative writing" .. Laboratory for the enabled Emirati literary talents

Abu Dhabi, June 13 / WAM / The pen program for creative writing launched by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center in 2023 targets the development of Emirati writers skills, provides support to them, and publishes and promotes their literary works.

The program contributes to enhancing the Arabic language, encouraging the writing and creativity movement within the cultural vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, leading to the consolidation of authentic values, the support of creative authors, and the advancement of the skills of promising writers.

A pen program for creative writing, throughout the year, offers training workshops specialized in writing the novel, the short story, and writing directed to the child, ranging between 3 and 6 months, under the supervision of professors from senior authors and specialists, which have benefited more than 30 writers so far.

The pen program for creative writing reflects Abu Dhabi’s vision of culture and identity, which aims to consolidate deep cultural values, highlight the identity of society, a variety of cultures, and enhances the message of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center to contribute to the advancement of the Arabic language, and to pay attention to their learning and enrich them by speakers by supporting creativity and authorship.

The program is very popular with the talented writers, as it provides each of them tools and the necessary potentials to develop their literary works in various creative fields, including the novel, the short story, child literature, biography, and literary criticism, within a creative laboratory that enables them to experience, criticize and analyze, and then editing literary works before publishing them according to the publishing criteria approved in the Abu Dhabi Center for Arabic.

The program recently launched the first product of the writing workshop for the child at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025, which is represented by a story collection for children entitled “The House of Stories”, which included nine stories of Emirati female writers, most of whom are published for the first time, while eight Emirati painters contributed to the book drawings.

The pen program for creative writing is an extension of the pen project, which was launched in the year 2008, with the aim of enhancing the spread of Emirati literature, as it published more than 45 literary works for different generations of writers in various literary fields, and some works were translated into German, Hindi, and Urdu.

The program receives complete literary works, and establishes its validity for publication in accordance with the regulations of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, which continues to launch qualitative initiatives and cultural projects, qualifying the Emirati writer, enhancing its cultural position, and contributing to achieving the cultural vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE, in building a reader -related generation in the Arabic language, and the authentic values ​​of Emirati society.
