The Emirates National Orchestra concludes a series of concerts " the beginning "

ABU DHABI, 5 February / WAM / The National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates concluded the successful national tour of its inaugural series of concerts entitled “The Beginning”, which attracted more than 3,500 viewers and achieved widespread positive interaction throughout the country.
The National Orchestra of the State began the “The Beginning” series of concerts with an opening performance in Abu Dhabi, then presenting its distinctive sound throughout the country, where musical evenings were revived in Al Ain, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah.
The “The Beginning” concert series received wide public interaction, while these musical evenings expressed the National Orchestra’s mission, which is to make orchestral music available to the public in various parts of the country, provide a harmonious artistic dialogue that blends Arab and Western musical traditions, and provide experiences based on common cultural communication in the various emirates of the country.
Sheikha Alia bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Director General of the National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates, said that the “The Beginning” concert series constituted an important milestone, as it was the first time that the National Orchestra presented its performances to the public in various parts of the country, which received wide acclaim, leaving a positive impact.
She expressed her pride in the high level presented by the musicians, and the high professionalism that the performances reflected since their inception, noting the great enthusiasm of the audiences and the distinguished presence of dignitaries and leaders, which reflects the importance of building a national orchestra that enhances the audience’s feelings of pride and belonging.
For his part, Amin Qwaider, Artistic Director and Conductor of the State National Orchestra, said that the series of beginning performances represented an exceptional experience, through the manifestation of the profound impact that music had on the audience’s focus on playing during concerts and their interaction with the melodies.
He added that this tour gained special importance for the musicians as it was the first time they played collectively in front of an audience in various parts of the country.
It is noteworthy that the National Orchestra includes 70 musicians and 30 singers who hold the nationalities of more than 30 countries, reflecting the diversity of the UAE, and they present harmonious musical pieces using 18 types of musical instruments.
The “The Beginning: An Emirati Symphony” is a symphony performed for the first time, composed by Nadim Tarabay, inspired by the Emirati musical heritage and presented in a symphonic form. Meanwhile, “Polovtsian Dances” from the “Prince Igor Opera” combines Eastern and Western music.
The UAE National Orchestra continues its inaugural season after the conclusion of the “The Beginning” concert series and is preparing to present new concerts in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Fujairah.
The program of upcoming performances on February 7 in Abu Dhabi includes the show “Vivaldi: Journey to the East” and “Classics from Russia” on February 14 in Abu Dhabi as well, which constitutes a musical dialogue that brings together the works of the famous Italian composer Antonio Lucio Vivaldi with musical instruments, oriental melodies and Russian classics. On March 26 in the Emirate of Fujairah, the show “Dialogue of Hearts” is a poetic musical journey exploring the stages of love from the tenderness of feeling to spiritual sublimity.
In the Emirate of Dubai, next March 5, the show “Echo of the Ages: Ibn Arabi” will be presented, which is a show inspired by the sayings of the famous Arab philosopher Muhiddin Ibn Arabi and mixes orchestral music with oriental musical instruments in an artistic work that explores the concepts of love, loneliness, and the search for the meaning of life.
