The Secretary General of the United Nations Tourism Organization meets representatives of French companies

Abu Dhabi, June 17 / WAM / His Excellency Sheikha Nasser Al -Nuwais, the Secretary -General of the United Nations Tourism Organization for the period from 2026 to 2029, confirmed that technology is a major axis for developing a sustainable tourist sector and responsible at the regional and global levels, as it plays an important role in creating innovative tourist models based on best practices used globally.

During her meeting with a number of representatives of a group of leading French travel and tourism technology companies, she said that tourism improves the quality of life while maintaining privacy, and contributes to providing distinguished tourism experiences for visitors and tourists from all over the world.

Al -Nuwais discussed with the participants in the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of her participation in the “FIFA 2025” exhibition for entrepreneurship and modern technology, held in the French capital, Paris, under the slogan “The New Borders of Innovation”, the future of promoting innovation and advanced technologies in the tourism sector and the importance of using digital solutions to support the efficiency of tourism services, and enhance the readiness of this vital sector to keep pace with continuous technological changes.

She stressed the importance of increasing investments during the next stage by the private sector to create smart digital solutions that support the sustainability of tourism, and establishing an integrated digital infrastructure that enhances the efficiency of tourism operations.

During the meeting, she pointed out the importance of strengthening the partnership between the United Nations Tourism Organization, companies and private tourism institutions, in creating new tourism initiatives and projects that contribute to facilitating movement and communication between the countries of the world and improving the operational efficiency of tourism destinations, especially in light of the challenges facing the tourism sector such as climate changes and changes related to travel and tourism patterns.
