“Health” discusses the executive plan for the national policy to combat health risks in the country

The Ministry of Health and Community Protection held a workshop “launching the national policy to combat health risks in the country”, with the wide participation of the concerned authorities represented in health authorities and other competent authorities, with the aim of introducing its axes after its approval by the Council It contributes to the adoption of a multi -sectors approach to preparation, preparedness and confronting health risks, in response to the aspirations of “Emirates Celsius 2071“.
The workshop was inaugurated by the advisor to the Minister of Health and Community Protection, Dr. Salem Al -Darmaki, with the participation of representatives of the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management, the Presidency Bureau, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Federal Authority for Nuclear Control, and the Health Department – Abu Dhabi, Emirates Health Services Corporation, Emirates Drug Corporation, Dubai Health Authority, Sharjah Health Authority, Dubai Health.
The risk confrontation system
The workshop focused on governance frameworks to combat health risks, including building and supporting social, financial and administrative commitment, coordination on all levels through building partnerships and national networks and international cooperation, developing policies and supportive legislation, and integrating health in all policies, as well as mechanisms of health risk management in their stages that include; Prevention, preparedness, response and achievement of recovery, by following the implementation of the national framework for health risk management, identifying, analyzing, evaluating and evaluating early warning, in addition to ensuring response and controlling the health situation in cases of exposure to risk and health emergencies.
Future planning
The workshop touched on strengthening the basic sustainable infrastructure for its health and logistics, the continuation of basic and vital health services during health emergencies, ensuring the availability of qualified health workforce in adequate numbers, and developing interventions to respond effectively to communicate with risks, reducing rumors, providing and analyzing data and statistics for risks in order to make decisions based on evidence, as well as enhance the research ability and create systems and management Innovation in the field of various health risks, as well as identifying the most important improvements in the health sector and others, and developing the future planning process for health risks management.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, Dr. Mohamed Salim Al -Ulama, stressed that the national policy to combat health risks in the UAE constitutes a strengthening of the national health emergency response system, which embodies a proactive vision that accompanies the aspirations of the wise leadership, and is in line with the aspirations of the UAE government in the continuity of developing a health sector capable of containing emerging challenges and a rapid response to health crises and emergencies.
He added: The ministry operates according to a system consistent with all governmental, private and academic agencies, local and international, in a framework that enhances the integration of roles and establishes a legislative and executive environment capable of achieving sustainable results, and the policy focus on rational governance, institutional empowerment, and raising the efficiency of infrastructure, constitutes a basic pillar to consolidate comprehensive national health security, by establishing the role of community participation as a strategic tool For early detection, prevention prevention, and the achievement of comprehensive readiness that ensures the continuity of vital services under various circumstances, which supports the achievement of the Ministry’s strategy 2023-2026.
The Director of the Department of Health Policy and Legislation in the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, Dr. Lubna Al -Shaali, pointed out that the implementation of the national policy to combat health risks will contribute to providing proactive guidance to develop the national capabilities necessary to respond to health events and risks and combat their effects in accordance with the latest global and national health practices and evidence and enhance more healthy health systems capable of adapting to future crises through a national framework that establishes integration between the authorities, It unites efforts. Pointing out that this policy represents a strategic step that enhances building a flexible health system, which is based on health in all policies, and keeps pace with the Ministry’s strategy in achieving comprehensive and sustainable health security..
Dr. Fatima Al -Attar, Director of the International Health Regulations Office at the Ministry, indicated that the accuracy of the periodic evaluation of health risks by strengthening early monitoring and detection systems, classifying these risks and standing on their sources will lead to strengthening readiness and improving response indicators, reducing death rates and rates of emergency related diseases and health disasters and enhancing the continuity of comprehensive health coverage in the country.
