"Higher education" Renew the adoption of graduate studies programs at the Faculty of Engineering in "American American" Until 2031

Sharjah, June 17 / WAM / The Academic Accreditation Commission at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research renewed the academic accreditation of ten high studies at the Faculty of Engineering at the American University in Sharjah until October 31, 2031, confirming the quality of these programs and their alignment of national and international standards in higher education.

Approved programs include Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Systems Management, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatron Engineering, in addition to a doctoral program in engineering – engineering systems management.

The Academic Accreditation Commission affirmed that the renewal of accreditation comes within the framework of its keenness to ensure the quality of the outputs of higher education institutions in the country, and to raise the level of academic competence in a way that supports national development and state directions in the areas of innovation and scientific research.

This accreditation coincides with the launch of the university’s engineering college, “Graduate Studies in Engineering 2.0”, which aims to update programs and provide flexible academic options, including paths based on courses or the preparation of theses, in addition to a comprehensive update in study plans that takes into account developments in the areas of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and sustainability. The college also provides flexibility in attending lectures by presenting them in the evening And weekend holidays.

Dr. Fadi Ahmed Al -Aloul, Dean of the College of Engineering at the American University in Sharjah, said that the renewal of accreditation represents an affirmation of the leadership of the university’s academic programs, and reflects the increasing confidence of the academic and industrial societies in the quality of education and scientific research it provides, and its keenness to prepare engineering cadres capable of keeping pace with technology developments and achieving sustainable development.

The college is preparing to launch two new doctorate programs in the fall of 2025, one in civil and environmental engineering, and the other in electrical engineering and computer engineering, within the framework of academic expansion based on multidisciplinary research.

The Faculty of Engineering includes more than 2,700 male and female students from more than 70 nationalities, including about 350 students, and 21 members of the faculty were chosen in the list of the best 2 percent of scientists in the world according to the last “Stanford – Severe” classification.

The college continues to enhance its academic partnerships with prestigious international educational institutions, which gives students distinguished opportunities for academic exchange and international research cooperation.

The American University in Sharjah ranks second at the state level in the employment reputation of employers, according to the “QS” global universities rankings for the year 2025, and college graduates work in major international institutions such as “Google”, “Microsoft”, “Amazon”, “Schneider Electric”, “BWC”, “the UAE Cabinet”, “Emirates Space Agency”, and “Mohamed Center Bin Rashid Space.

The application for graduate programs at the College of Engineering for the Fall 2025 Chapter 2025 was opened, with scholarships and academic assistance granted on the basis of merit and competition, in order to enhance students’ educational and research experience.
