The Chair of the Independent International Committee warned that “The broad material destruction of Gaza, the dismantling of its educational and health systems, the destruction of housing and infrastructure, targeting and destroying heritage sites, including restricting access to those sites and erasing their inherited history, aims to erode the historical ties of the Palestinians to the land and weaken their collective identity, and thus obstruct their right to self -determination.”.

Accounting the perpetrators of atrocities

Pele reminded that the committee affirmed on many occasions that the atrocities committed by one of the two parties do not justify the one committed by the other party, stressing the need to bring all perpetrators of the atrocities to justice and hold them fully accountable.

Pele said: “All countries must move firmly to end the massacres and stop the atrocities.”.
