A joint cooperation to support the student’s journey from public education to the higher

Abu Dhabi, June 18 / WAM / The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced its cooperation with the Department of Education and Knowledge – Abu Dhabi, with the aim of supporting and facilitating students’ journey and their transfer from public education to higher education, enhancing integration and facilitating licensing procedures and accreditation of higher education institutions to ensure their quality and efficiency, and activate the exchange of institutional data between the two sides, which contributes to improving operational efficiency and quality of educational outputs.

This cooperation comes in the context of the Ministry’s efforts to unify the organizational frameworks with the local institutions concerned with the education sector, and to raise the level of institutional coordination in a manner that ensures the consistency of educational policies, and to provide a flexible and integrated academic trip to students, starting from the secondary education stage, extending until they graduate from higher education institutions and enrollment in the labor market.

His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Al -Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed that this cooperation with the Department of Education and Knowledge – Abu Dhabi embodies the Ministry’s vision aimed at establishing an interconnected educational system that contributes to achieving future national targets.

His Excellency said: “Through this cooperation, we look forward to achieving higher levels of integration and coordination, in a way that guarantees students an academic experience with a clear path, starting from the school and is based on detailed and accurate data, so that they can obtain higher education opportunities that are consistent with their individual ambitions, and at the same time keep pace with the changing and accelerating requirements in the labor markets.”

His Excellency added: “Cooperation also includes working to facilitate administrative and organizational processes for higher education institutions in Abu Dhabi, which is reflected in the speed of completion and contributes to guaranteeing quality, as well as building an effective system for exchange of data that supports strategic planning and developing educational services. We will continue to work to enhance the prospects for cooperation with our partners in all educational bodies in the country to develop a highly innovative and sustainable education sector that supports and promotes the leadership of the global state.”

For her part, His Excellency Sarah Muslim, head of the Education and Knowledge Department – Abu Dhabi said: “Our partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research embodies a practical model for integrating efforts between the authorities, aiming to raise the quality of education in the UAE, and provide a smooth and interconnected educational experience that supports students in their academic and professional career.”

“We believe that preparing national competencies ready for the future starts from education, and this step helps students move smoothly from school to the university, and from there to the labor market, in order to enhance their chances of success and their willingness to future changes.”

Her Excellency explained: “We support all cooperation agreements that open wider areas for students for excellence and development. These partnerships are effective tools for the development of education, the consolidation of a culture of innovation, and the opening of various and promising paths that enhance the UAE’s position as a global educational destination.”

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research will cooperate with the Department of Education and Knowledge – Abu Dhabi to ensure the registration of students of the eleventh and twelfth grades in the registration and unified acceptance system, in parallel with the activation of the role of schools in early academic guidance, and providing students and parents with comprehensive information about admission requirements, university majors, and post -school paths.

The cooperation also includes the design and implementation of seasonal awareness campaigns and training workshops for academic guides, as well as continuous follow -up to measure the effectiveness of services provided to students during this stage.

Cooperation also includes reviewing and studying new requests for higher education institutions wishing to provide their educational services within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and coordination in the organizational and regulatory aspects related to licensing and academic accreditation operations in accordance with the regulations approved by both the Ministry and the department.

In terms of data exchange, work is underway to participate and integrate institutional data related to higher education institutions, students and graduates registered within the regulations approved by the ministry and the department.

This ensures the provision of clear and updated information for use in improving planning, evaluating the applicable programs, and developing the level of services provided to students and educational institutions.

The cooperation also includes defining the data exchange mechanism between the two parties, and setting a time frame to update it periodically, in addition to preparing joint analytical reports that reflect performance indicators, such as admission, enrollment, continuity and graduation, enabling the two parties to take decisions based on reliable information, with full commitment to the policies and procedures approved on data governance and security, and ensuring the compatibility of data exchanges with federal and local systems Popular in the state.
