Dubai, June 19/ WAM/ The United Arab Emirates hosted an important Gulf dialogue on the policies supporting the economic empowerment of women, organized by the Emirates Council for Gender, in cooperation with the World Bank, where the participants from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries renewed their commitment to work to enhance the economic empowerment of women through adopting and activating the necessary policies and measures in an innovative style that keeps pace with the requirements of the next stage and create supportive legislation, In addition to encouraging cooperation and exchanging knowledge and experiences between the authorities concerned with achieving this strategic goal.
The “Knowledge Exchange of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries”, which was organized under the umbrella of the “Emirates Center for Gender for Excellence and Knowledge Exchange”, gathered a group of policymakers, experts and officials concerned with the gender balance file in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to a group of major experts of the World Bank.

The dialogue, which was held on the 17th and 18th of June 2025 in Dubai, was a new step in advancing the march of joint regional work in the field of gender balance, with a focus on expanding the scope of women’s economic participation and enabling them in the labor market within influential strategies.
Strategic goal.
On this occasion, the campus of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister, President of the Presidency Bureau, Her Highness Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Emirates Council for Sex, said: “It is very important that the economic empowerment of women is considered as a strategic goal in the national development process, as it enhances the efficiency of institutions, stimulates innovation, and guarantees the achievement of societies to provide its name Comforting, flexibility and sustainability .. We believe that regional cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experiences is vital to the advancement of the role of women and the affirmation of their constructive positive contribution to reaching the desired future.
Her Highness affirmed the Emirates Council for gender balance to establish targeted partnerships with the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council to achieve further progress in gender balance, and to establish a unique model to empower women economically.

Her Highness added: “In cooperation with the World Bank, we have established the Emirates Center for Gender Balance for Excellence and Cognitive Exchange as a vital platform not only enhances regional dialogue, but also contributes to enhancing gender balance at the global level. The UAE hosting this workshop reflects the common belief that the desired progress is faster, deeper and more sustainable when it is pushed through cooperation and innovation.”

She added: “In order to inspire the vision of our wise leadership, the UAE set the goal of achieving gender balance within the priorities of its national agenda, and worked to consolidate it in various institutions, legislation and economic strategies,” stressing the commitment of the Emirates Council for gender balance, led by Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to enhance partnerships with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to achieve tangible progress in this vital file, indicating the importance of the importance The exchange of knowledge and experiences in this regard, expressing its confidence that this constructive dialogue is an introduction to a greater cooperation and a tangible impact in the near term.

In her opening speech to a workshop “exchanging knowledge of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries”, His Excellency Moza Mohammed Al -Ghwis Al -Suwaidi, Secretary -General of the Emirates Balance Council, confirmed that this inspiring dialogue embodies how for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to benefit from its unique experiences to build high -growth economies.

The Secretary -General of the Emirates Council for Gender Balance shed light on the role of the Council led by Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in strengthening the gender balance agenda, reviewing aspects of the council’s efforts in adopting forward -looking policies and legislative improvements and building partnerships affecting the establishment of gender balance in all sectors of the state.

The workshop “Exchange of Knowledge of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries” attracted a wide quality participation from major government agencies in the participating countries that included representatives from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the General Organization for Social Insurance, the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training, and from the Kingdom of Bahrain: the Ministry of Sustainable Development, the Supreme Council for Women and Empowerment, and from the UAE each of the ministries of: “Economy and Finance”, “Finance”, And “Human Resources and Emiratisation”, “The Family”, the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, the General Authority for Pension and Social Insurance, the Competitiveness Council of the Emirati cadres “Enforce”, the Dubai Women Foundation and the Nama Foundation for the advancement of women.
The first day of the workshop focused on policies to contribute to improving women’s access to job opportunities, and discussions also dealt with the advanced legal and methodological reforms reported by the report “Women, Business and Law”, issued by the World Bank.
The discussions of the second day focused on the exchange of national experiences, as the UAE highlighted the efforts made to enhance the participation of public sector in achieving gender balance and equal employment opportunities, while the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia offered the progress achieved in the field of workforce participation and enhancing social insurance for women. The Kingdom of Bahrain also reviewed its national skills development and empowerment strategies.
The Gulf dialogue concluded with a session dedicated to discussing the following steps and future cooperation, and reviewing the most important visions and opportunities that the Emirates Council for Gender Balance in cooperation with the World Bank, which guarantees that this dialogue is the beginning of sustainable Gulf cooperation aimed at building a holistic economy in the Arab Gulf countries that achieve wide economic and social benefits for their people.
