Abdul -Razzaq Al -Asmar as the champion of the Arab reading challenge in Lebanon

The Arab Reading Challenge, the student Abdul Razzaq Al -Asmar, crowned the hero of its ninth session at the level of the Lebanese Republic, out of 23 thousand and 361 male and female students who participated in the qualifiers, and represented 203 schools, and under the supervision of 167 supervisors and supervisors.

The student, Abdul Razzaq Al -Asmar, was crowned from the sixth grade in the Al -Mujah Al -Alamah High School, affiliated to the North Educational Zone, during the closing ceremony of the ninth session of the Arab Reading Challenge witnessed by the Lebanese capital, Beirut, in the presence of the Minister of Education and Higher Education in the Lebanese Republic, Dr. Rima Karami, and the Chargé d’Affairs at the Embassy of the UAE to the Lebanese Republic, Fahd Salem Al -Kaabi, and the Director General of the Lebanese Ministry of Information, Dr. Hassan Falah, The participation of the Director of Programs and Initiatives at the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives” Foundation, Dr. Fawzan Al -Khaldi, and a number of officials and educators who are based on the initiative of Arab Reading Challenge, those interested in knowledge affairs, and those with male and female students participating in the competitions.

The closing ceremony also included the culmination of Beydoun’s female, from Beirut Educational Zone, with the title of “Distinguished Supervisor”, and Tripoli Al -Haddadin School, from the north, with the title of “Distinguished School”.

In the category of people of determination, the first place was the student Zulfikar Ali Sabra from the 12th grade in Al -Rahma High School of the Nabatiyeh region, among the 700 male and female students who competed for the title of this category.

Dr. Rima Karami noted the importance of the Arab Reading Challenge Initiative, considering that reading is not a luxury but rather a “existential and a way to build the intellectual and creative Arab person.”

And she saw that the Arab reading challenge succeeded, over its nine seasons, in overcoming the limits of the school competition, to turn into a “living Arab cognitive movement”, capable of addressing new generations with innovative methods that encourage self -learning and cultural openness.

She added that “Lebanon’s commitment to this initiative since its inception reflects our deep faith in the centrality of knowledge in the future industry, and in the Arabic language as a bridge towards civilization and openness.”

She expressed her pride in the level of Lebanese students, who have proven a distinct ability to analyze, think and dialogue.

Karami congratulated the student Abdul -Razzaq Al -Asmar, the hero of the Arab Reading Challenge at the level of Lebanon, praising the efforts of schools, supervisors, supervisors, arbitrators and rulings, and the great role of the parents who embraced this passion for reading.

The Minister of Education and Higher Education in the Lebanese Republic valued the efforts made by the UAE to revive the spirit of reading in the Arab world, and said: “Let us continue this path together, because a nation is reading, a nation that promotes.”

For his part, Dr. Fawzan Al -Khalidi stressed that the standard successes recorded by the ninth session of the Arab Reading Challenge initiative comes as an extension of what the initiative has established since its launch in 2015, from clear visions on the creation of the positive influence in Arab societies through investing in new Arab generations, and upgrading its capabilities and capabilities by focusing on spreading education and knowledge as a priority work in the approach of the “Muhammad Bin Rashid Initiatives Foundation Global ».

He said: «The male and female students of the sisterly Lebanese Republic showed a great ability to absorb and deal with the accurate standards of the Arab Reading Challenge initiative, foremost of which is the proficiency of self -expression in a high -level Arabic language, which seemed clear throughout the qualifiers of the ninth session, which confirms the deep interest by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Lebanon to provide the ideal conditions that allow students to increase their knowledge, and provide a bright image of the educational and cultural reality in Their country. ”

Al -Khalidi congratulated the heroes of the ninth session at the level of Lebanon, appreciating the efforts of the Ministry of Education, all schools, supervisors, supervisors and parents of male and female students, and their keenness to facilitate the participation of their children in the competitions.

The Arab Reading Challenge, which was launched in the 2015-2016 academic year under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, aims to produce a comprehensive reading and knowledge movement, consolidate the culture of reading in the Arabic language as a language capable of keeping pace with all forms of arts, science and knowledge, and encouraging emerging generations to use them in their daily dealings, developing mechanisms The self in a sound Arabic language, and the development of creative thinking skills.

The challenge that falls under the umbrella of the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives” Foundation seeks to enhance the importance of cognitive reading in building self -learning skills, and building the value system of young people through their knowledge of the values, customs and beliefs of other cultures, which establishes the principles of tolerance, coexistence and acceptance of the other.

The ninth session of the Arab Reading Challenge initiative witnessed record participation, which reached 32 million and 231 thousand students from 50 countries, representing 132 thousand and 112 schools, under the supervision of 161 thousand and four supervisors and supervisors.
