The head of the “Chamber” discusses enhancing cooperation to integrate scientific research with the business environment

Samir Abdullah Nass, President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, received the Board of Trustees of the Youssef Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, where they discussed ways to enhance integration between research efforts and commercial and economic reality in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which contributes to supporting the economic decision based on scientific studies and analyzes that serve the interests of the Bahraini private sector and keep pace with its aspirations.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Chamber expressed his welcome to the members of the Board of Trustees, praising the pioneering national role played by the Kano Al -Karimi family in supporting knowledge and institutional projects that reflect their keenness to serve the country and society, stressing that the Youssef bin Ahmed Award was a distinguished national initiative that contributes to enhancing the culture of scientific research and honoring research competencies in priority areas.

His Excellency the President of the Chamber pointed out that the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and within its vision of strategy aimed at strengthening its role as an active development partner, has been keen during the past eight years to establish strong pillars of an integrated knowledge system that enhances its presence in the national economic scene, and contributes to developing visions based on scientific and realistic analysis of economic changes.

His Excellency explained that the Chamber has developed the Department of Economic Studies to be a specialized center in the production of knowledge, analyzing economic indicators, measuring the impact of decisions and policies on the business community, and the “strategic thinking unit”, which undertakes the task of monitoring global and regional trends, and anticipating the challenges and opportunities that may affect the business environment, with the aim of preparing in -depth analytical readings that help the Chamber in taking studied positions that support business owners and enhance and enhance business owners Their competitiveness.

He explained that this research system has actually contributed to the production of qualitative studies that focused on central issues affecting the interests of the business community, such as food security, uncle market and others, which enabled the Chamber to play a more effective role in formulating economic policies, and providing advice based on in -depth data and analyzes.

He added that the Chamber was not satisfied with preparing studies only, but also established the “Experts Bank”, which is an interactive platform that includes experts in various specialties, with the aim of benefiting from national, Arab and international competencies in supporting the decision -making process, and providing a consultative opinion specialized in economic and societal issues, which reflects the extent of the Chamber’s commitment to achieve integration between thought and practice.

The meeting witnessed a review of a number of strategic proposals for cooperation between the Chamber and the award, the most prominent of which are: “The launch of a joint communication platform, the creation of a special category for applied research, the provision of incentives to adopt the results of research, organize periodic seminars and dialogues, and establish an experimental laboratory for business (Business Lab).

The meeting was attended by Muhammad Abdul -Jabbar Al -Kooheji, the second deputy head of the Chamber, Walid Kano, Deputy Financial Secretary and Chairman of the Coordination Group of the sectoral committees, Youssef Salah al -Din, member of the Board of Directors, Sawsan Abu Al -Hassan, member of the Board of Directors.
