Dubai Municipality stops two engineering consultants office for violating the controls and regulations for practicing the profession and organizational conditions

Dubai, June 29 / WAM / Dubai Municipality announced the decision of the Committee for an Inclusion and License to Practice the Profession to suspend two engineering consultant offices and prevent them from licensing any new projects for a period of 6 months, after monitoring professional practices that contradict the approved regulations and requirements and ethics of the profession, which may negatively affect the interests of the owners and developers, as part of the duties of the Dubai Municipality in organizing the profession of engineering consulting and controlling the quality of work.
Dubai Municipality is implementing periodic field visits to the headquarters of the engineering consulting profession, in order to determine the commitment to the legislation and laws regulating the profession, and to ensure that all the criteria and requirements adopted in the emirate are applied within its keenness to follow all activities related to the construction sector.
In a related context, the Dubai Municipality announced a new plan to update the criteria of “contracting contracting companies and engineering offices”, to include the introduction of a set of criteria and indicators that enable the provision of comprehensive and accurate evaluation criteria for the performance of these bodies, in order to enhance their continuous efforts in developing the construction and construction sector in the Emirate of Dubai to be smarter, sustainable and pioneering, and in a way that promotes to the highest standards and international standards.
The new standards update is expected to enter into force at the beginning of 2026.
The criteria that will be created include aspects such as; Financial solvency, resettlement rate, and participation in social responsibility, as well as commitment to handing out projects within the specified periods, adopting and supporting innovative projects that use the latest technologies in design and implementation, in addition to the continued adoption of an angel evaluation as a major element in the system.
For her part, Eng. Maryam Obaid Al -Muhairi, Executive Director of the Foundation for the Regulation and Optimism of Buildings in Dubai Municipality, affirmed that this update reflects the commitment of Dubai Municipality to raise the level of buildings in the emirate, and enhance its competitive position worldwide, in addition to developing its pre -emptive services and improving the environment of engineering professions and consulting offices, in a way that establishes a culture of professional excellence and raises the standards of this vital sector, to enhance the leadership of The Emirate of Dubai in its adoption of the latest and best global practices in the field of construction and construction.
She said that the system of assessment of contracting companies and engineering offices is an essential incentive to raise the efficiency of the performance and the quality of their work, as we confirm our keenness in the Dubai Municipality to provide comprehensive data on contractors and consultants and their performance assessments of customers and developers, in order to help them choose the most appropriate for their projects, while providing them with the opportunity to participate in evaluating performance through electronic questionnaires through the building platform through the building platform In Dubai “BID”, which enhances transparency and contributes to building confidence among all parties concerned, and achieves the added and direct value to them.
The Executive Director of the Foundation for the Regulation of Buildings is that the development of evaluation criteria will be in cooperation with contracting companies and consulting offices operating in Dubai, by organizing periodic sessions and meetings with them to listen to their opinions, suggestions and observations before the system is officially approved.
