The Qatari economy grows by 3.7% in the first quarter of the year

Doha, on July 1/ WAM/ The Qatari economy achieved a real growth of “fixed prices” by 3.7% during the first quarter of the year 2025 on an annual basis, compared to the same period last year.
The Qatar News Agency, Qena, quoted the National Planning Council in Qatar, that the gross domestic product of fixed prices amounted to 181.5 billion riyals in the first quarter 2025, compared to 175 billion riyals in the same quarter of the previous year.
He explained that the non -hydrocarbon economy formed about 63.6% of the real GDP for the first quarter of 2025, or about 115 billion riyals, after its contribution was about 62.6% in the same period in 2024.
The growth of the non -hydrocarbon economy attributed 5.3%in the first quarter of this year to growth in the manufacturing sector by 5.6%, the construction sector by 4.4%, the real estate activities sector by 7%, the transportation and storage sector by 3.5%, the wholesale and retail sector by 14.6%, and the residence and food services sector by 13.8%.
The council said that despite the fluctuations faced by the global economy and the fluctuation of oil and gas prices, the growth of hydrocarbon activities is still ongoing, as its contribution to the real GDP of Qatar constituted about 36.4% in the first quarter of 2025, or about 66 billion riyals, and achieved 1% growth compared to the same period of the previous year.
