The state of escalation in the region will have serious repercussions on international security

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, made a phone call today with US President Donald Trump.

During the call, the latest developments in the situation were reviewed in light of the continued unjustified Iranian attacks on Qatar and the countries of the region, in addition to discussing the efforts made to contain the current escalation.

During the call, the Emir of Qatar stressed that the state of escalation witnessed in the region will have serious repercussions on international peace and security, stressing the importance of containing the crisis and intensifying diplomatic efforts to end it.

He also stressed that the State of Qatar will not hesitate to take everything necessary to defend its sovereignty, security and national interests, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and the provisions of international law.

During the call, the two sides stressed the need for joint action to maintain regional and international stability, and to support political paths that would address the current tensions and avoid further escalation in the region.
