The initiative aims to ensure the readiness of the boats and their artistic safety before sailing, which contributes to reducing the rates of breakdowns and risks at sea, as periodic tests include engines, fuel tanks, ventilation systems, electrical connections, firefighting devices, and ventilation entrances inside the boat, in addition to verifying the installation of safety methods such as survival jackets and fire extinguishers.
The association emphasized that the specialized work teams are implementing field visits to the main hunting ports, such as Al -Rajaliyat and a profit, to provide immediate technical support, and make simple maintenance on the site or transfer the boat to one of the two workshops of the association when needed.
She stated that a number of marine accidents occur as a result of practices that can be avoided, such as filling the fuel tank without making sure of the air emptying, or a leakage in connections, or the accumulation of fuel vapor in closed places, which may lead to fires or explosions that pose a threat to the lives of fishermen and the crew.
The association stressed the importance of the commitment of preventive procedures, follow -up of periodic maintenance, and dealing with the boat as a “integrated safety system”, and not only a means of sailing, stressing the continuation of the initiative throughout the year, while intensifying it during the seasons of maritime activity.
