Dubai Municipality closes the Ras Al -Khor Reserve temporarily, coinciding with the launch of comprehensive development work

The Dubai Municipality announced the temporary closure of the Ras Al -Khor Wildlife Reserve, coinciding with the start of the comprehensive development of the site, stressing that the reopening of the reserve later will represent a new start towards an integrated and rich environmental experience that enriches the experience of visitors, and keeps pace with their aspirations in exploration and entertainment within a sustainable natural environment.
The municipality has recently announced the award of the first phase contract of the reserve development project, at an estimated cost of about 100 million dirhams, while the total cost of the project reaches 650 million dirhams, distributed in two phases, with the aim of strengthening environmental systems and biological diversity, and maintaining the sustainability of natural habitats, as well as consolidating the reserve’s position as a pioneering destination for sustainable environmental tourism, provides a unique experience that promotes the quality of the life of the population And tourists.
The reserve development project is part of Dubai’s strategic direction in supporting its economic agenda D33, by focusing on making the emirate among the three most important international destinations for visitors, by improving infrastructure, and providing innovative models of luxury and quality of life.
The municipality affirmed its keenness to plan and design the reserve based on the needs and visitors of the emirate’s residents, in a manner that ensures an integrated environmental and tourism experience, which enhances the human association with nature without prejudice to its environmental balance, and also contributes to opening new investment prospects that support the green economy and increases the protected contribution to direct economic returns.
