UAE is keen to build development partnerships with the Caucasus countries

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, yesterday discussed the relations of the two countries and the possibilities of enhancing cooperation and joint work between them to expand their horizons, especially in the fields of economics, investment, food security, renewable energy and environmental work, and other aspects that serve common interests, and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals in the two countries.
This came during the reception of His Highness the President of the State – at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi – President Ilham Aliyeif, who visited a work to the UAE.
His Highness welcomed the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to the state, expressing his aspiration that his visit contributes to pushing the paths of cooperation at various levels, in the interest of the two countries and their peoples.
The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues and issues subject to common concern, stressing the importance of promoting joint work to consolidate the foundations of peace, stability and regional and global security.
His Highness the President of the State stressed that the Emirati -Azerbaijani relations are based on mutual respect and common interests, noting that these relations are witnessing a continuous development, especially in areas that serve joint development.
His Highness said that the two countries are united by a common vision on the importance of dialogue and communication between different cultures and peoples, stressing that His Highness is that the UAE is keen to build development partnerships with all the Caucasus region, foremost of which is Azerbaijan, because of the good for all the peoples of the region, in addition to its support of everything that would enhance stability, peace and development in the region, based on its belief that peace is the way to achieve the aspirations of peoples towards development and prosperity.
For his part, the President of Azerbaijan expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the President of the State, for the interest that attaches to the relations of the two countries, which had a great impact on its development during the past years, especially in the developmental fields, stressing the importance of the return of joint projects in accelerating development and prosperity in Azerbaijan.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that the comprehensive economic partnership agreement comes within the framework of the UAE’s approach to continuing to build development partnerships around the world, which contributes to achieving development and prosperity, promoting peace and stability, and creating opportunities for future generations.
His Highness stressed that the agreement is an important station in the march of Emirati -Azerbaijani relations, noting that it embodies the common aspirations of the UAE and Azerbaijan, aimed at continuing to build a flexible economy based on knowledge and innovation and meets the requirements of development.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, and the Minister of Economy in Azerbaijan, Michael Jabarov.
The agreement aims to enhance investment flows and provide opportunities in important sectors, including renewable energy, tourism, logistics services, and construction services.
The agreement also contributes to upgrading cooperation within the private sector, supporting supply chains and empowering entrepreneurs and small and medium -sized businesses to expand their business around the world.
The comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the UAE and Azerbaijan constitutes an important addition to the comprehensive economic partnership agreements program, which the UAE has continued to implement since its launch during September 2021, as it is based on years of close cooperation between the two countries, in light of the trade prosperity between them, as non -oil bilateral trade has grown by 43% on an annual basis, to reach $ 2.4 billion at the end of 2024, and the UAE is an important commercial partner For Azerbaijan, where the country comes the first Arab investor in Azerbaijan, with forms exceeding one billion dollars.
The comprehensive economic partnership agreements program is a basic pillar in the foreign trade agenda of the UAE, aimed at increasing the volume of non -oil foreign trade to $ 1.1 trillion by 2031.
The President of Azerbaijan arrived in Abu Dhabi, earlier yesterday, where he was received by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State and Prime Minister and head of the Presidential Court, and a number of senior officials.
