Emirates Special Envoy to Germany discusses with senior officials in Berlin bilateral relations in vital fields

Berlin, July 10/ WAM/ His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al -Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and CEO of ADNOC and its group of companies, the UAE’s special envoy to the Federal Republic of Germany, made an official visit to the German capital, during which he discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and opportunities for cooperation in areas of common concern.

During the visit, His Excellency held a number of high -level meetings with senior government officials and business leaders in the private sector, in the presence of His Excellency Ahmed Al -Attar, the UAE ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany.

His Excellency met … His Excellency Dr. Johann David Fadivol, German Foreign Minister, and His Excellency Sirb Goller, Minister of State at the German Foreign Ministry, and ways of developing bilateral relations and joint cooperation were discussed.

The two sides stressed the importance of the strategic relations that link the two countries, and the need to explore new horizons for cooperation in various priority fields, including developing economic and diplomatic relations, and joint work to upgrade them to more comprehensive levels, in a way that serves the sustainable economic development goals in the two countries.

The visit program included a meeting with His Excellency Katrina Reichh, Minister of Economy and Energy, and the developments of bilateral relations and strategic initiatives were discussed, including the Emirati -German partnership in the field of energy launched in 2017.

The two sides discussed ways to expand the prospects for cooperation in the fields of energy, renewable energy, industry, infrastructure, investment, trade, health and tourism, as well as support the role of the private sector and enhance the business environment.

The two sides stressed the importance of developing partnerships in these vital sectors as basic pillars for achieving sustainable development and enhancing economic growth in the two countries.

His Excellency also held bilateral meetings with His Excellency Toristin Fry, head of the Federal Counselor Bureau and Minister of State for Special Tasks, Dr. Livin Halle, Director General of Economic, Finance and Climate Policies at the Federal Counselor Bureau and Sherba, Federal Adviser at the Group of Seven and Group of Twenty, and His Excellency Hendrick Foust, Prime Minister of North Rhine -Westphalia.

During the meetings, the enhancement of bilateral cooperation was discussed in a number of priority areas for the two countries, including government work, and discussed opportunities to expand the horizons of trade and industrial cooperation between the two friendly countries, in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development.

His Excellency also met Dr. Volker Trader, CEO of Foreign Trade and a member of the executive management of the German Chambers of Industry and Trade (DIHK) and discussed ways to enhance institutional cooperation to support the business community and expand the areas of commercial and investment partnership between the two sides.

The meetings also included a number of heads of parliamentary committees in the German parliament (Al -Bundestag), including the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee, and the head of the Transport Committee, ways to enhance cooperation, expanding the areas of bilateral partnership in light of the growing strategic relations that bring together the two friendly countries, while emphasizing the importance of the role of parliaments in supporting the paths of political and economic cooperation, and providing capable legislative frameworks To integrate in various priority sectors.

It is worth noting that the value of the non -oil bilateral trade between the two sides amounted to about 50 billion dirhams (13.6 billion dollars), achieving an increase of 4%compared to the levels of 2023, and this growth is mainly due to the rise in Emirati exports by 43%, driven by a significant increase in pearl exports and precious metals by 112.5%, as well as in machines and equipment by 85%, in addition to import growth rate 6%.

During the first four months of 2025, bilateral trade witnessed a remarkable growth of 17.7%compared to the same period in the previous year, as Emirati exports increased by 77%, and imports by 16%. Pearl exports, precious metals and machines are the main driver of this growth after more than four times have multiplied.
