Cooperation between the two municipalities
Ras Al -Khaimah on July 14 / WAM / The Municipality of Ras Al -Khaimah and the Kayti municipality in Italy signed a cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing knowledge exchange and supporting sustainable development initiatives on both sides, which establishes an official partnership between them.
The agreement was signed during an official ceremony held in the Emirate of Ras Al -Khaimah, His Excellency Munther Mohammed bin Shukr Al -Zaabi, Director General of Ras Al -Khaimah Municipality, and Dr. Luigi Fibo, head of the Kiti Municipality Council.
The website’s intention discourse embodies a framework for cooperation in a number of vital fields within the path of transformation in the energy sector, including raising the efficiency of the industrial sector, enhancing the use of renewable energy sources, supporting sustainable movement, developing automatic control systems for homes, rationalizing water consumption, and reducing carbon emissions.
His Excellency Munther Mohammed bin Shukr Al -Zaabi said that sustainability constitutes a global challenge that requires the concerted local and international efforts, and from this standpoint, our cooperation with the municipality of Kitei represents an important step towards exchanging experiences and attracting innovative companies to Ras Al Khaimah, as well as creating promising development opportunities for local industries.
He added that this cooperation reflects our continuous commitment to leading the efforts of the energy sector, in line with the vision of our wise leadership and the integrated sustainability strategy for sustainability.
According to the agreement, the Kaiti municipality will facilitate the participation of Italian companies within its network in the “Ras Al Khaimah Energy Summit” and other relevant initiatives, while the Ras Al Khaimah municipality will provide dialogue platforms and specialized workshops to enhance business communication with the relevant authorities in the emirate.
For his part, Dr. Luigi Fibo said that the cooperation agreement with the Ras Al -Khaimah municipality is a real opportunity for both parties and their regions, the ancient city of its roots for more than a thousand years, has a prominent cultural and economic status, and its economy is based on the pillars of culture, industry, services and education, supported by the presence of the University of Gabrieli Dannzio, which represents an important scientific reference in the region.
He emphasized that the cultural and economic identity of Kitei can meet with the identity of Ras Al -Khaimah at common points, allowing the establishment of a solid ground for integration, and creating promising opportunities for joint growth and sustainable development.
It is noteworthy that the “Ras Al Khaimah Integrated Sustainability Strategy 2050”, which was launched in 2024, represents a comprehensive road map for sustainable development in the emirate, where it is concerned with enhancing energy security, protecting the environment, raising industrial competitiveness, and contributing to the removal of carbon from the economy.
