The UAE condemns the Israeli plan to control the Ibrahimi Mosque

The UAE has expressed its strong condemnation and condemnation of the Israeli plan to transfer the authority of the Ibrahimi Mosque Administration and supervise it from the Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs and the Hebron Municipality to the “Jewish Religious Council in the Kiryat of four settlement”, in a move that represents a dangerous violation of the historical and legal status that exists in the Ibrahimi Mosque.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of respecting the status quo in the holy places, and the need to stop all unilateral and provocative practices that destabilize the occupied Palestinian territories, and undermine international efforts to achieve calm.
The UAE called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in protecting holy sites, and ensuring that it does not prejudice its religious and historical position, and stressed the importance of supporting all regional and international efforts made to advance the peace process in the Middle East, as well as put an end to illegal practices that threaten access to a two -state solution.
