Liwa Wet Festival attracts more than 50 thousand visitors within 5 days

Al -Dhafra on July 19/ WAM/ The Liwa Wet Festival 2025, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Presidential Bureau, attracted 50 thousand and 225 visitors within 5 days.
The activities and competitions of the 21st session of the festival continue until July 27, in the city of Liwa, Al Dhafra, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority.
The Liwa Wet Festival is one of the most important platforms that celebrate palm heritage and authentic agriculture in the UAE, and an annual occasion awaited by farmers and local society, because of its great support for the agricultural and food security sector.
The festival competitions, which include 24 competitions, including 12 competitions for wet, include the categories of “Al -Dabbas, Al -Salva, Al -Fawabda, Al -Jenisi, Boumaan, Al -Shishai, Al -Zamali, and the Grands of Hard, along with the Al -Dhafra and Liwa competitions for the wet elite, and the imposition and salvation of the eye”, and 7 fruits competitions for the categories of “varied and local lemon, the varied and red and yellow mango, The house’s fruit basket “, 3 competitions for the model farm of the” Western Lectures, the Eastern Lectures, the Cities of Al -Dhafra “, the most beautiful journey competition, and a creativity competition from the palm tree.
For these competitions, 308 prizes are allocated to 8 million and 735 thousand dirhams, in addition to the theater competitions for visitors.
The festival activities are varied to include the participation of sponsors, supporting and participating parties, wet market, palm trees and agricultural tools, as well as the popular market and handicraft shows that revive the authentic heritage of new generations, the staining of women and their elegance, and the children’s area that defines children on the categories of wet and the importance of caring for the palm through learning to play.
The festival program enjoys seminars, lectures and educational workshops for farmers on the latest methods of palm care, wet production in the best quality, combating agricultural pests and reducing infection, and identifying fungal diseases that hunt palm and ways to prevent them, rotate water and provide its consumption, and many others through the festival theater and the wings of the participating authorities.
The festival embodies the commitment of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to preserve the heritage and its color and transfer it from generation to generation, and to celebrate the season of wet dementia and the palm tree, which constitutes an ancient cultural and social symbol in the Emirati heritage.
The festival contributes to attracting visitors and tourists from different parts of the country and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in a heritage and interactive atmosphere that serves farmers and provides distinguished activities for visitors and their families.
