Declaring a state of emergency in the Indonesian province of Kubu Raya
The Kobu Raya Provincial Government announced the location at West Kalimantan Province of Indonesia Emergencydue to Forest and land fires, and increased budget support and personnel protection in order to accelerate prevention and mitigation efforts amid the rise in the number of forest fire foci.
Provincial Administration Chief Su Jiu reported today that the state of emergency alert has entered into force since January 14 and was followed by preparations to call in all relevant agencies to enhance coordination and mitigation efforts, indicating that the trend of forest and land fires has shown a significant increase.
He pointed out that the number of fire foci has now risen to 58. A focus spread in several areas in Kubu Raya Province.
