“The eyes of the doll” .. infiltrate the dreams of young women and threaten blindness

It has spread on social media platforms, finally, “Trend” bearing the name “Doll’s eyes”, and depends on the injection of filler under the eye, with the aim of obtaining a youthful appearance inspired by the features of the dolls.
Doctors warned of the dangers of this phenomenon, stressing that it causes severe health and psychological complications, especially since an area under the eye contains accurate blood vessels directly linked to the flow of blood to the eye, which makes any error in the injection very serious.
They told «Emirates Today» that Filler’s right under the eye leads to 10 healthy complications, the most dangerous of which is the possibility of visual loss.
They revealed cases suffering from what is known as “Filler’s migration”, as the injected material from under the eye moved to neighboring areas such as cheek, which led to deformation of the appearance, or dangerous complications.
The doctors noted the increasing focus of girls on the external appearance, at the expense of self -development and personal skills, and they attributed this to the desire to achieve “digital success”.
Medical awareness
In detail, a professor and consultant of dermatology, Dr. Anwar Al Hammadi, warned of the disturbing increase in the use of filler injection under the eye, especially in teenagers, stressing that this procedure should take place when there are clear medical reasons, such as the treatment of sunken circles or some wrinkles.
He explained that the injection of the filler under the eye is fraught with multiple risks, especially since this area is sensitive, and the incorrect use may lead to complications that include swelling and long -term bruises, and the appearance of under the skin, in addition to what is known as “filler migration”, where it moves from its place to adjacent areas, such as the cheek, which causes an abnormal appearance, and requires subsequent treatment interventions, and the complications may reach in rare cases, to rare cases, to rare cases, to rare cases, to rare cases, to rare cases, to rare cases, to rare cases, to rare cases, to rare cases, to rare cases, to rare cases Vascular blockage and vision loss, especially for girls who have not completed the facial features and their natural balance.
He warned of the danger of imitating the “doll’s eyes”, stressing that reaching this shape via filler or surgical methods, such as “Cat Eye technology” may lead to abnormal or even distorted results, and not suitable for all features of the faces.
He added that «behind this trend the effect of celebrities and digital platforms», criticizing excessive and misuse of the Filler injection into some clinics, explaining that “there are clinics that lack a culture of guidance or rejection, and implement any procedure based on demand, without observing complications or the actual need.”
Al -Hammadi called on girls to think well before taking any aesthetic action, stressing the need to differentiate between the real medical need and the blind imitation of temporary shouts that lead the communication platforms, recommending the consultation of a specialist and reliable doctor before making any decision.
He explained that “beauty is not only measured by the external form, but it begins from the inside and is based on self -confidence and psychological and physical health.”
Vascular
“Any mistake in the injection of an area around the eye may directly affect the eyelids and eye muscles, and consequently vision, because this area is one of the most sensitive areas of the face.”
He stated that there are several cases that were injected under the eye with a filler and were subjected to what is known as “Filler’s migration”, which caused complications, such as blockage of the main artery of the eye and visual loss.
He emphasized that the region between the eyebrows (front) and the upper and lower eyelids are very sensitive, given that it contains blood vessels that are directly related to the flow of blood to the eye, which makes any inaccurate intervention in it has severe consequences.
He added that the filler can also lead to permanent swelling or chronic bruises around the eye, noting that some patients later have to undergo “Filler Delivery” sessions, and in other cases, doctors are forced to intervene surgical to remove it.
He said: «Several cases we reviewed due to complications resulting from the Filler around the eye, we were able to help some of them with simple procedures, and there are cases that required a surgical intervention, while others were always affected, and we were unable to help them restore the vision.
Advertising campaigns
The dermatologist and beauty specialist, Dr. Mawadia Barakat, stated that the injection of filler under the eye is a non -surgical action, aiming to improve the appearance of the area under the eye, through the injection of “hyaluronic acid”, which is a natural substance found in the body, and is considered the most common in the uses of the filler.
And she showed that this procedure is suitable for people with a cavity in the lower eye, whether for genetic reasons, as a result of weight loss or age.
She explained that “the filler fills this cavity and improves the appearance of dark circles, bloating and fine lines, as it helps to moisturize the skin and enhance its quality in general, and the condition is required by a specialist doctor to determine the actual need of the patient to it, and any type and amount of filler is suitable.”
She stressed the necessity of not drifting behind the propaganda campaigns promoted by unconventional cosmetic patterns through social media platforms, in what is called “doll’s eyes”, noting that this type of change is not commensurate with – mostly – with natural facial features, and may lead to inconsistent results, calling for consulting a specialist before taking any cosmetic procedure.
Psychological damage
The psychiatric consultant, Dr. Mahmoud Najm, stressed that the direction of young girls towards adjusting the features of the face is due to the impact of social media platforms that promote superficial standards of beauty, which is based on the external form, which led to a real disturbance in the concept of acceptance and self -esteem in this category.
He explained that there are teenagers who are busy with their external appearance at the expense of self -development and personal skills, payments with a desire to obtain social acceptance and achieve “digital success”, by increasing the number of followers and interacting on platforms.
He believed that «this excessive focus on the shape turns a person into a digital product, distorts the image of the self, and puts girls in a permanent comparison with those called the famous social media».
He pointed out that this phenomenon is sometimes associated with psychological disorders, such as body dysmorphic disorder, where the individual sees fake defects or exaggerates the evaluation of non -visible physical details, which makes him in a permanent state of anxiety and dissatisfaction with his appearance.
He stressed that “this disorder is more common among teenage girls, and its intensity increases in light of the emotional or psychological neglect of the family, or even as a result of the indisputable family bullying.”
He called for avoiding cosmetic intervention, unless there is a clear defect that negatively affects the patient’s psyche or exposes her to bullying repeatedly, such as cases of pathological weight gain or the presence of moral distortions, but if the cause is purely psychological, then it is obligatory to go to a specialized psychiatrist, because cosmetic procedures may open an endless door of unjust attempts, and the psychological problem is exacerbated instead of Treat it.
He stressed that the role of the family in this issue is crucial and essential, as promoting self -esteem in girls must be launched from inside the house, by supporting talents and skills, and providing appreciation and praise for personal achievements and not only on appearance.
He said that “the girl at the age of 12 or 13 years will not be able to discover her passion or refine her talents, but rather needs direct support from her family, so that the real success is a goal, not the apparent success on the communication sites.”
