World Championship is an important station before “Islamic Solidarity Games”

The head of the Emirates Swimming Federation’s Business Committee, Abdullah Al -Wahaibi, affirmed that the participation of the national team in the World Water Games Championship, scheduled for Singapore, represents an important station in the program to prepare swimmers for the upcoming entitlements, led by the Islamic Solidarity Games hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The UAE national team will participate in the championship with a delegation that includes the international swimmers Youssef Al -Matroushi and Salem Ghaleb, under the leadership of the national coach, Marwan Al -Hatawi, and Salem Ghaleb is scheduled to travel from the Emirates on August 24, while Youssef Al -Matroushi will join the mission directly from the United States of America.

Salem Ghaleb participates in the 50 and 100 -meter butterfly race, while Youssef Al -Matroushi is playing 50 and 100 meters free. Salem had organized an intense internal camp two weeks ago in preparation for the tournament, under the leadership of coach Marwan Al -Hattawi, who was keen to prepare the swimmer for this global event.

Al -Wahaibi told «Emirates Today»: “Through this participation, we seek to raise the readiness of our swimmers, and give them the opportunity to friction at the highest level, which reflects positively on their technical and mental level, especially since the tournament includes a group of world champions in swimming.”

This global appearance comes within the Union’s plan to develop the artistic performance of swimmers, and to gain more international experience in preparation for the upcoming regional and continental participation.
