“Dubai Residence” announces the start of the electronic linking application between residence transactions and traffic violations

The General Administration of Identity and Foreign Affairs in Dubai has announced the start of the application of electronic linking between residence transactions and the Dubai Police Traffic Violations system, as it has become required for residents to pay all the traffic violations due before completing any of the residence renewal procedures procedures, canceling or transferring them.

And “Dubai Residence” explained during a media meeting this morning, Wednesday, that the implementation of the electronic linking system comes within a experimental stage, currently including applicants for renewal, cancellation or transfer of their residency, stressing that no requests will be accepted to renew the residence, amend the legal situation or cancel within the country, without making sure to settle the traffic fines due to the applicant.

She emphasized that this procedure aims to enhance integration between government agencies, and to encourage individuals to adhere to the laws and regulations in force, especially with regard to traffic safety and to preserve the safety of everyone.

For his part, the Director General of the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Al -Marri, said that the UAE today has become a global model to be followed in good governance and balanced humanitarian leadership, and we are proud that we live in a society that respects the law and raises the values of discipline and coexistence, and for this our duty is all to complete each other in maintaining commitment to laws and being partners in building a safe and happy society.
He added: “This step embodies the state’s direction towards consolidating the culture of respecting the law and order, which is one of the fundamental foundations of a safe and stable life, and we are in a country that appreciates man and puts his safety and comfort at the top of priorities, and from here comes the importance of adhering to traffic laws and other regulations in force.”
He explained that the decision to link the renewal of residency to pay the violations does not aim to impose restrictions, but rather a civilized procedure that establishes the principle of transparency and accountability, and encourages everyone to assume their responsibilities as individuals in this society. Just as the state has duties towards the population, the population also has a responsibility to contribute to the application of the system and the law to live in one society safely and happy.
