Two killed in two Israeli raids on southern Lebanon

Two people were killed today in two Israeli raids on Lebanon, one of them in a town located south of the capital, Beirut, according to what the Lebanese Ministry of Health and a security source reported, while the Israeli army said it targeted two members of Hezbollah.

Israel continues to carry out air strikes on various areas in Lebanon, which it says are aimed at preventing Hezbollah from rebuilding its capabilities after suffering major losses in the bloody war between the two parties, which lasted more than a year before a fragile ceasefire came into effect in November 2024.

The official National News Agency reported that a “hostile march targeted” a small truck in the town of Siblin, located about 30 kilometers from Beirut. A security source told Agence France-Presse that the raid led to the death of one person and the wounding of four others.

At the site of the raid in Siblin, an Agence France-Presse photographer saw members of the Lebanese army deployed around the site of the raid on the main road in the town, and firefighters working to extinguish the fire that broke out in the place after the raid.

He saw a small truck used to transport goods, and its front windshield was damaged.

Prior to this raid, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that an Israeli raid “on a car on the Al-Adisa-Makaba Road” near the border with Israel “led to the martyrdom of a citizen.”
