Abdullah bin Zayed welcomes France to declare its intention to recognize the State of Palestine and affirms the UAE’s steadfast commitment to support its people’s legitimate rights

Abu Dhabi, July 25/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the declaration of His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, his country’s intention to recognize the sisterly state of Palestine, considering that this step enhances the efforts of the international community to achieve a two -state solution, and establish a just and lasting peace in the region.

His Highness expressed the UAE’s appreciation for this important decision, which comes in a detailed moment that requires the international community to assume its responsibilities, and work collectively to activate the political path, and end the Palestinian -Israeli conflict, in a way that contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region, and at the same time support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is the establishment of its sovereign independent state, according to United Nations resolutions and relevant international agreements.

His Highness also renewed the affirmation of the UAE’s steadfast commitment to support the aspirations of the Palestinian people, safeguard their rights, and continue to work with regional and international partners to achieve a just and sustainable solution that ends the conflict, and is paved to build a more stable and prosperous future for the peoples of the region.
