"Creative media" She celebrates 10 years to enable young talents through "Summer media camp"

Abu Dhabi, July 30/ WAM/ The Creative Media Authority concluded the tenth edition of the annual summer media camp, through which it celebrates this year with a decade of inspiration and empowerment for a new generation of young media professionals in Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates.
The authority launched the summer media camp initiative for the first time in 2016, to establish its efforts in developing and supporting talents from an early age, and it became a basic pillar in building a creative and sustainable creative media sector.

The camp was established to introduce children between the ages of 8 and 12 years to the creative skills offered by the media field, while the initiative has evolved since that time, to become one of the most prominent national platforms for the care of a new generation of storytelling narrators, filmmakers and creators in the field of creative content, as it has so far attracted more than 390 students, Emirati citizens constitute 77% of them.
“We celebrate this year with the tenth edition of the summer media camp, which formed a basic pillar of the authority’s efforts to build a creative sector that keeps pace with future trends, pointing to the embodiment of the continuous commitment to the state to sponsor local talents, and inspire the next generation to explore the opportunities provided by the media sector as a field that motivates innovation and creativity Until a decade, many of the camp graduates have turned into inspiring models in the media and creative sector.
The camp achieved a remarkable development in terms of spread and impact over the years, as its scope was expanded in 2020 to include a wider age segment, targeting the 12 to 15 years of age, while witnessing a distinctive international expansion, in cooperation with the Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2021, where he hosted students from the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt, And Ethiopia.
Long -term partnerships with leading bodies such as the Abu Dhabi Media Network, “CNN”, and the beginning of Media, the Korean Cultural Center, Jubi Soft, “Twofour54”, and Sand Storm Comics, along with a number of government and private agencies, contributed to enriching the camp with multiple experiences and global visions.

The recent courses also witnessed the joining of a group of creative media partners, including the “IMI” Media Academy, “E-STARS”, Abu Dhabi for games and electronic sports, and “Nina” podcasts, where they presented various specialized sessions that added a new dimension to the content and knowledge provided to the participants.
The impact of the camp is not only limited to its educational content, but also extends to form an integrated society of young inspiring energies, as the Creative Media Authority involved 217 volunteers, among them a large number of graduates of the camp who returned to participate as mentors and guides, which represents a real embodiment of the spirit of belonging and continuity that characterized the initiative’s march.
The Creative Media Authority organized a special event to celebrate the twelve years of the launch of the camp, during which it gathered the graduates of the camp and its first partners, and its community counselors, who had a pivotal role in shaping his inspiring career.

This celebration comes in conjunction with the “Year of Society” as an embodiment of the commission’s commitment to support the principles of transfer and participation of knowledge and learning between generations, and to consolidate societal creativity as a firm value.

The camp has witnessed distinguished dialogue sessions that focused on highlighting the authentic Emirati values, such as hospitality, mutual respect and societal cohesion as basic pillars of the camp since its inception.
Aisha Al -Junaibi, Director of Talents Department at the Creative Media Authority, said, Since the launch of the camp, we have targeted encouraging young people to discover their creative capabilities, by providing them with the tools and skills that enable them to have a practical experience in the fields of fictional narration, artistic production and teamwork in this age stage, in a way that contributes to building skills and enhancing confidence to accelerate the start of their future career in the media sector.
