المملكة: The Kingdom’s markets are adorned with the finest grapes and production quantities exceeding 122 thousand tons
Local grapes are very popular among consumers, and its abundant production covers all markets, as the Kingdom produces more than (122.3) thousand tons, and is characterized by its high nutritional value and a beloved taste, in addition to its vital role in the manufacturing industries.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture explained that grape cultivation in the Kingdom is witnessing a remarkable development thanks to the great government support, in addition to adopting the use of modern technologies and good agricultural practices; What contributed to increasing production, and raising its efficiency and quality.
High quality
It indicated that many regions and governorates of the Kingdom are famous for the production and cultivation of grapes, the most prominent of which are Tabuk, Al -Qassim, Hail, Al -Jouf, Al -Madinah Al -Munawwarah, Asir, and Taif Governorate.
The ministry indicated that local grape varieties are characterized by high quality, and the great demand for them in the markets, noting that one of the most famous varieties, sectarian, Al -Halawani, Al -Banati, Erly Sweet, Crimson Sids, Thompson Sidls, Superior.

The multiplicity of local grape varieties contributes to the diversity of its use in many manufacturing industries, such as juices, ice cream, and sweets, and the production of grapes and its diversity contributes to supporting food security, as well as supporting the national economy, in line with the targets of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.
The Ministry indicated that it pays great attention to enabling farmers in various regions of the Kingdom, according to the relative advantage of their crops and fruits, by providing an integrated system of technical support, guidance services, and financing facilities, as well as encouraging them to expand the application of modern agricultural technologies; To contribute to raising the efficiency of national production, and enhancing self -sufficiency in the Kingdom.
