An ambitious plan to launch the Professional Football League

Women’s football in the UAE is in a confident pace towards a promising future, driven by an integrated work system and a strategic vision that extends until 2030, aimed at consolidating the state’s position on the regional and continental arenas, and is heading towards launching a professional women’s league in the near future.
This march reflects a remarkable development on the ground, where the Abu Dhabi Women’s Sports Club crowned the title of the West Asian Clubs Championship in 2019, and the first emirate team reached the AFC Champions League quarter -final, and the Emirates Women’s team achieves positive results in West Asian championships and external participation, which contributed to improving its continental classification, amid a continuous pursuit of the Football Association to expand the base of the players, and intensify opportunities International friction.
These successes are based on a strong organizational infrastructure led by the Emirates Football Association, which includes the organization of a number of women’s championships, most notably the Women’s Football League with the participation of clubs and institutions, and other competitions, which have organizational and technical support from the Women’s Football Committee, which works to attract coaches and international experts, to enhance the technical side in the system.
In the context of development plans, the Women’s Football Committee, in cooperation with the Football Association, developed a strategic plan that extends until 2030, focusing on building a generation of professional players, promoting community participation, and developing infrastructure, as well as working to launch a professional women’s league during the middle stage, as well as developing age groups, and establishing regional training centers of the Federation.
The Federation, in cooperation with the Asian Football Confederation, also launched specialized programs in qualifying cadres, most notably the Asian women’s training license, and women’s arbitration courses that witness wide participation from Emirati women, and Emirati referees participate in managing the local league matches, and some of them were nominated in the list of the Asian elite arbitration.
In this context, a member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Football Association, Chairman of the Women’s Football Committee, Amal Buslakh, stressed that the game is moving towards a promising future, thanks to the great support from the wise leadership, and the Football Association’s keenness to consolidate sustainable scientific and organizational foundations for development.
She said that the Women’s Football Committee operates according to a comprehensive strategic plan that aims to build an integrated system that includes competitions and teams, talent development and qualifying technical and administrative cadres, in order to enhance the UAE’s position on the map of women’s football at the regional and continental levels.
She explained that what has been achieved so far is the fruit of years of hard work and fruitful cooperation with governmental, educational and club institutions, expressing her aspiration that the next posts in the Asian Cup qualifiers for Australia 2026 new stations are demonstrated by the development of women’s football in the Emirates.
For its part, Badriya Faisal, Badriya Faisal, pointed to the qualitative shift in the game in recent years, from the increasing number of players, teams and societal interest, stressing that football has become an effective means of social and cultural change.
The sports analyst, Dr. Nora Al -Marzouki, considered that the progress achieved by the game is clear evidence of the success of the method followed, noting that the current development system focuses on the physical, psychological and tactical aspects, which enhances the team’s ability to compete with confidence in regional and international forums, and prepares the way for a new generation of Emirati players to make the difference in the future.
