FIFA rejects Iran’s request to move its matches in the 2026 World Cup from America to Mexico

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) rejected Iran’s request to move its matches in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup from the United States to Mexico, despite the security tensions related to the ongoing war, according to the British newspaper “The Independent”.
The newspaper quoted FIFA President Gianni Infantino as saying: “The tournament schedule will remain the same,” stressing the commitment to holding it on its scheduled date, without directly mentioning Iran.
