"Climate change and the environment" The first version of the program concludes "Permanent"

Abu Dhabi, August 10 / WAM / The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment concluded with the activities of the first edition of the “Permanent” program, which was organized in the framework of “General Society” with the aim of building and empowering the capabilities of Emirati youth in the fields of environment, agriculture and sustainability.

The program, which was organized in cooperation with the “Sallal” company in Al Ain, and the International Center for Salt Agriculture “Ikba” in Dubai, seeks to rehabilitate and build a generation capable of enhancing innovation in the field of sustainability, and raising its readiness for the future labor market by giving it research, analysis and teamwork skills.

His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al -Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, said that the success of the first version of the program confirms the vision of the rational leadership in investing in its youth wealth, and represents the adherents of the “permanent” program of the national human capital, on which the future of the green economy and the sustainable food security system will depend.

He explained that “permanent” is not limited to providing the participants with knowledge, but also aims to build an innovative mentality capable of developing solutions, stressing the continuation of preparing this generation to continue to lead the transformation towards a low -carbon economy, and to be ambassadors for sustainability in their societies, pointing to the partnership with “baskets” and “Ikaba” that embodies the state’s approach to uniting national efforts to achieve future climatic goals and aspirations, Where the program will continue to make innovative minds for a better tomorrow for the future of the Emirates through the upcoming versions that will focus on more pillars of sustainability in the country.

The “Permanent” program was held with parallel two tracks, where the company “Salal” led the first track in the innovation oasis in Al Ain, while the “Ikba” center led the second track at its headquarters in Dubai, and the program provided the participants an integrated educational experience that combined theory and application through specialized workshops in soil and water laboratories, post -harvesting technologies, crop health, in addition to interactive activities to stimulate critical thinking and solve problems.

The program succeeded in achieving its goals in introducing young people to challenges and opportunities in the environment and agriculture sectors, and to provide them with the basic skills that constitute a solid base for their professional future.
