Dubai Roads confirms stop arm instructions for school buses

The Roads and Transport Authority stressed the need for vehicle drivers to follow the stop lever instructions for school buses.
The authority said in a statement on its account on the “X” platform today that all road users must follow the instructions of the school bus stop lever to ensure the safety of the children on board.
She added that vehicles must remain parked until all students cross and reach the safety zone, pull the stop lever, and turn off the flashing lights, stressing that any violation of the instructions regarding the stop lever exposes violators to a fine.
She indicated that vehicles on undivided roads that do not contain a central island or dividing barrier must stop at a distance of 5 meters in both directions, while on divided roads, vehicles driving behind the bus must stop at a distance of 5 metres.
