A workshop to develop statistical indicators supporting industrial growth in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, August 11 / WAM / The Statistics Center – Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized a workshop that focused on enhancing data exchange between the government and private sectors, with the aim of developing the record for producers and the record for industrial production, within the initiative “Data for the Public Good”.
The workshop witnessed the participation of experts and representatives of government agencies and industrial companies, and industrial associations and federations, where the importance of these indicators was reviewed in supporting economic policies and stimulating sustainable industrial development, as well as discussing the prospects for cooperation in the field of data to enhance the quality and accuracy of statistics.
His Excellency Abdullah Gharib Al -Qamzi, Director General of the Statistics Center – Abu Dhabi, stressed that these statistical indicators are pivotal tools to monitor industrial performance and direct economic policies, noting that the added value of manufacturing industries amounted to 111.6 billion dirhams in 2024, representing 9.5% of the governor’s gross domestic product.
For his part, His Excellency Shams Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Second Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed the importance of partnership with the private sector in enhancing the business environment and supporting data -based investment.
The workshop witnessed interventions from representatives of the industrial sector, during which they expressed their support for the “data for the public good” initiative, and stressed the importance of accurate data in improving performance and taking effective strategic decisions.
