"Muslim sages" Israel’s declaration condemns the construction of 3400 new settlement units in the West Bank
Abu Dhabi, August 15 / WAM / The Council of Muslim Elders, headed by His Excellency the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, strongly condemned the declaration of the Minister of Finance in the Israeli government, in Salail Smotrich, to agree to build 3400 new settlement units in the vicinity of the West Bank and the city of Jerusalem, targeting the Palestinian state’s land unit.
In a statement issued today, the Council affirmed its categorical rejection of such provocative practices and escalating steps by the Israeli occupation, which is inconsistent with the charters of the United Nations, international laws and Security Council resolutions, and undermining the efforts to bring peace in the region and the world.
The Council renewed its call to the international community to work to stop Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and stop the aggression against the Gaza Strip, and to address starvation policies and attempts to forced displacement, and to pass the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with its capital, Al -Quds Al -Sharif.
