"Islamic affairs" Nahyan and Dhiab bin Zayed mosques are opened on Jubail Island in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 18 March / WAM / The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat opened the mosques of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Jubail Island in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Hamdan Muslim Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Crescent Authority, His Excellency Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, and His Excellency Ahmed Rashid. Al Neyadi, Director General of the Authority, its executive directors, a number of its officials, and a large gathering of worshipers.

His Excellency Dr. Omar Al-Darai said that the opening of the two mosques comes within the framework of the Authority’s strategy and its keeping pace with the urban expansion witnessed by the country, by building mosques in new neighborhoods in coordination with municipal departments at the state level, praising the great support that the Authority enjoys from the wise leadership, and its keenness to care for the houses of God and their construction, and to expand its establishment to carry out its civilizational mission in society, as a faith, spiritual and social forum that enhances the spirit of unity, cooperation and solidarity for which society is known. Emirates.

The two mosques can accommodate more than 1,400 male and female worshipers, and include a main prayer hall for men, a prayer hall for women, ablution areas for men and women, service annexes, in addition to a private residence for both the imam and the muezzin.

The two mosques were built with a modern architectural style that combines simplicity and identity, and the interior spaces were carefully organized to facilitate the movement of worshipers and accommodate large numbers during peak times.

The facades are decorated with decorative mashrabiyas, along with other decorations that enhance their aesthetic character and give them a distinctive presence within a contemporary architectural framework.
