Dubai Police thwarts a rare pink diamond theft in the world worth $ 25 million

Dubai, August 18/ WAM/ The Dubai Police General Command managed to thwart the crime of stealing a very rare pink diamond worldwide, with a market value of $ 25 million, and holds a certificate of purity from the most important international specialized institutes in examining and adopting diamonds, and the rate of obtaining one with the specifications itself reaches only 0.01%, in a qualitative process called “Pink Diamond”.
Dubai Police announced the arrest of the gang that tried to steal the diamond, consisting of three people of Asian nationality, who relied on carrying out their crime on a professional plan that continued to work for more than a year, and included an accurate planning of how to reach and communicate with the owner of the diamond, a diamond dealer, and to lure it.
In the details, Dubai Police explained that the merchant brought the diamond from a European country to Dubai, and placed it in his jewelry shop in order to sell it, while the gang members were following the stages of its arrival at the merchant and then planned the process of stealing it by working to persuade him that they are wealthy, and that they communicated with him as mediators for purchase of a wealthy man.
Dubai Police indicated that the gang members arranged several appointments with the merchant, and they were appearing in front of him using luxury cars that they hired for the purpose of deceiving and deluding him that they are from a rich class, along with several meetings with him in the most luxurious hotels, stating that all the deceptions that the gang members were keen on was the only purpose of luring the merchant to get the diamond out of his place and brought them to them on the grounds that they will arrange a meeting with him The rich man who will buy it from him.
Dubai Police indicated that the merchant was keen on not taking the diamond from the store to its precious value, but that the gang members were planning to push it to take it out in any way, until they brought a well -known international expert in the world of diamonds to verify its quality and present it, which contributed to pushing the merchant to convince their real desire to buy the diamond after watching this known expert.
Dubai Police confirmed that the gang members truly deceived the merchant and brought the diamond to a villa on the pretext of presenting it to the rich man to buy it, but they took advantage of the opportunity and managed to seize it, then they escaped while they were in their possession.
Dubai Police added that the merchant submitted a communication that the precious diamond was stolen, so the General Administration of Investigations and Criminal Investigation worked to form a work team to follow up on all the details of the operation and managed through its smart programs and systems, and the field individuals’ efforts to identify the identity of the three gang members.
She added that the General Administration of Criminal Investigations and Investigations was able, within 8 hours, through the efforts of the field and specialized work teams, and through the use of the latest technologies and systems of artificial intelligence, to thwart the crime of theft that the gang members planned, and to know the whereabouts of each of them and arrest them.
Dubai Police indicated that the General Administration of Investigations and Criminal Investigation revealed the gang’s plan in how to try to get the diamond from the state by hiding it in a small refrigerator and shipping it to an Asian country using goods shipping services.

The owner of the diamond confirmed that he was very happy with the Dubai Police call, news of seizing the gang and restoring the diamond, especially since its pink color is very rare in the world, and it is difficult to find one like it.
The owner of the diamond, who owns a diamond trade company, has been working in Dubai since 2005, added that this is the first time that such an incident has occurred with him, and he called on diamonds for the need to follow the instructions and laws related to the sale and trade of diamonds that the Emirate of Dubai sets, especially as it is today a global center in diamond trade.
