The organizing committee of the Emirati-Qatari Football Super Cup announces the details of its third edition

Doha, January 17 / WAM / The organizing committee of the Emirati-Qatari Football Super Cup announced the details of the third edition of the tournament, which brings together 8 clubs from the Emirates and Qatar.

This came during a press conference held today in the Qatari capital, Doha, in the presence of representatives of the organizing committee, Ahmed Al-Adsani, director of competitions, Abdullah Al-Menhali, director of the facility, and Ali Hassan Al-Salat, director of media.

Al-Adsani explained that the tournament, which witnesses the participation of 4 teams from each country, matches are held in a knockout system, with direct resort to penalty kicks in the event that regular time ends in a tie.

Al-Gharafa will meet Al-Sharjah in Doha to compete for the Super Cup, Al-Wahda will meet Al-Duhail at Al Nahyan Stadium to compete for the Challenge Shield, Al-Sadd will meet Shabab Al-Ahly in Doha to compete for the Super Shield, and Al-Ahly of Qatar will meet Al-Jazira at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium to compete for the Challenge Cup.

Al-Adsani pointed out that after each edition, the organizing committee reviews the regulations and works to develop the tournament from the technical and organizational aspects to ensure the best possible image of the event.

During the conference, preparations for the two matches that will be held in Doha between Al-Gharafa and Sharjah in the Super Cup, and Al-Sadd and Shabab Al-Ahly in the Super Shield were reviewed during the conference.

Abdullah Al-Menhali confirmed that the match between Al-Gharafa and Al-Sharjah will be held on January 22 at exactly seven in the evening, Doha time, at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium, with the gates opening to the fans at four in the afternoon, noting the readiness of the facilities and full coordination with the security authorities.

While the match between Al-Sadd and Shabab Al-Ahly will be held on January 24 at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, he confirmed the allocation of areas for fans in both stadiums, and the organization of public events and prize draws in coordination with the departments of the participating clubs.

For his part, Ali Hassan Al-Salat confirmed that tickets have been on sale since January 11 through the electronic platforms of the UAE Professional League and the Qatar Stars League Foundation, explaining that 75% of tickets for the match between Al-Sadd and Shabab Al-Ahly, and 50% of tickets for the match between Al-Gharafa and Al-Sharjah have been sold so far, with sales expected to increase after the end of the thirteenth round of the Doha Bank Stars League.

He pointed out coordination with the “Haya” platform to extract media cards and approve them in the coming days, pointing out that Al Cup channels will broadcast the matches as the official broadcaster, along with Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi sports channels, using more than 20 cameras to cover each event.
