Ukraine – The killing and injury of civilians and the deterioration of the humanitarian work environment

The United Nations spokesman Stephen Dujarik quoted the Ukrainian authorities as saying that the cities of Kharkiv and Zaburgia incurred most of the losses and damages. The regions of Donetsk, Jerice, Sumi and Odisa were also affected.

Dujarik said, at his daily press conference, that humanitarian partners provided immediate assistance to the affected people, with the support of United Nations agencies.

The work environment for humanitarian organizations is still deteriorating. In the first half of this year, at least four relief workers were killed, more than 30 others were injured, and more than 100 security incidents were reported in Ukraine.

The incidents that involve the damage of individuals, assets and facilities increased from 61 accidents last year to 103 accidents so far this year, which reflects the increasing risk, especially near the confrontation line, due to the increasing short -term aircraft attacks.

Humanitarian workers continue to support those fleeing hostilities in the regions of Donetsk and Denbero, where the authorities expand the scope of mandatory evacuation orders for families who have children.

Between 15 and 17 August alone, about 3,700 people, including 370 children, were evacuated from the confrontational lines areas in the Donetsk region, according to the local authorities.
