Al -Kooheji: 384 million dollars, the volume of trade exchange between Bahrain and Thailand in 2024, an increase of 14%

Mr. Mohammed Abdul Jabbar Al -Kooheji, the second deputy head of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed the strength and durability of trade relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Thailand, noting that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries exceeded 384 million dollars in the year 2024, an increase of 14% compared to the year 2023, which reflects the durability and flexibility of economic partnerships, and provides strong opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation.
This came during the opening speech he delivered at the event organized by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Royal Thai embassy in Manama, which was held on Tuesday, in the presence of Mr. Somati Chullatta, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the participation of a group of businessmen and investors who represent vital sectors that include food, manufacturing, technology, health and real estate.
Al -Kooheji stressed the Chamber’s keenness to enhance bridges of economic cooperation with various friendly countries, indicating that receiving commercial delegations from Thailand and other countries reflects the pivotal role of the room in opening channels for communication and dialogue between businessmen, in a way that contributes to creating new partnerships and enhances the flow of mutual investments.
He added: “This meeting represents an important platform to discuss investment opportunities and joint cooperation between business owners in Bahrain and Thailand, and we are confident that these meetings will contribute to pushing economic relations to welcoming horizons, through exchanging experiences, building partnerships, and exploring new paths for cooperation,” stressing the Chamber’s readiness to provide all forms of support to facilitate the efforts of businessmen and investors from both sides.
In turn, Mr. Somati Chullatta, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kingdom of Bahrain, stressed the depth of economic and trade relations between Bahrain and Thailand, praising the pivotal role played by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry in supporting and developing partnerships between the private sector in the two countries.
The ambassador pointed out that this meeting comes as a culmination of a growing march of cooperation, as the current delegation is the second that visits Bahrain during the year 2025, which reflects the increasing momentum in bilateral relations, and joint keenness to enhance commercial and investment ties.
He added that Bahrain, with its strategic location and an attractive business environment, represents an important gateway for Thai companies towards the Gulf and region markets, while Thailand’s experiences in the fields of food, hospitality and productive sectors can contribute to supporting the development process in Bahrain.
The ambassador concluded his speech by emphasizing that this meeting will pave the way for more joint initiatives and projects, and will contribute to strengthening the bridges of friendship and prosperity between the two friendly peoples.
