French poetry hosted by the Mohammed bin Rashid Library

Dubai, August 22 / WAM / The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, in cooperation with the French Cultural League in Dubai, organized a literary evening in the French language entitled “Readings in the poetry of Charles Podeller: Between Light and Shadows”, presented by the researcher Saeed Nourin, head of the association, and was interviewed by the translator Ghassan Nabbout.
The evening – which comes within the program to celebrate foreign culture and literature – dealt with the world of the French poet Charles Bodlaler, one of the most prominent symbols of modern poetry in the nineteenth century, through a critical reading that dealt with the stations of his life and his most prominent work.
Saeed Nourin reviewed the influence of exile, suffering and family rejection in forming a Podeller poetic experience, and how the pain turned into creative energy, which was manifested in the “Al -Saam and Al -Maliah” dualism, which formed an essential axis in his poetry.
Nourin compared Bodlaire and Al -Mutanabbi in terms of poetic self -esteem and the embodiment of the existential tragedy in their works.
The evening witnessed an interaction from the attendees, who found in the discussions an opportunity to discover new dimensions in the poetry of Bodlaire, and to meditate on his prayers with the Arab poetic experience.
This event comes within the efforts of the Mohammed bin Rashid Library to promote cultural dialogue and bring readers closer to international literary experiences, in confirmation of Dubai’s role as a center for thought and creativity.
