"Emirates Nuclear Energy" Join a program "Challenge" To enhance gender diversity

Abu Dhabi, August 25/ WAM/ Emirates Nuclear Energy Company joined the “Challenge” program, launched by Emirates International Aluminum Company, and aims to enhance gender diversity in the state industrial sector.
The Emirates International Aluminum Company launched the program under the auspices of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in November 2023, and includes the leading industrial companies in the country that is dominated by men to enhance gender diversity.
Through the program, companies cooperate in implementing joint initiatives to enhance totalitarianism in employment, enable women’s competencies, and consolidate a culture of work supporting diversity. The latest of these initiatives includes the development of a gender diversity set, which aims to identify comprehensive policies and behaviors and support their application through various stages of work in heavy industries.
Women constitute about 20% of the employees of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, which is one of the highest proportions in the nuclear energy sector in the world, where they occupy leadership positions in the fields of engineering, operations, nuclear safety and management. The company also established a Baraka branch of the “Women in Nuclear Energy” organization in 2014, and is currently the presidency of the Middle East branch of this international organization.
The Emirates International Aluminum Company currently includes 714 women in the UAE, and it occupies more than 330 women in operational jobs.
Abdel Nasser Bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates International Aluminum Company, said that the company believes that the gender diversity in work teams enhances creativity and innovation and is a basic pillar of the success of the industrial sector in the country.
He expressed his pride in the joining of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company for the “Challenge” program, which brings together the major national industrial companies to cooperate in accelerating the pace of gender diversity and enhancing women’s opportunities in the industry.
For his part, His Excellency Mohamed Al Hammadi, Managing Director and CEO of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, said that women are a major partner in the accomplishments achieved by the company at the Baraka station, where they contribute to supporting energy sustainability, developing the nuclear energy sector and inspiring future leaders, noting that the aim of joining the “Challenge” program is to share the company’s experiences and cooperation with the leaders of the industrial sector to enhance the presence of women in the advanced industries in the country.
With the joining of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, the challenge program now includes nine leading national industrial companies in the country. The “Namaa” Foundation for the Promotion of Women provides strategic consultations as a knowledge partner of the program.
