The UAE Books for Recreen Writing receives 176 posts in the Creative Writing Competition 2025

Sharjah, on August 26 / WAM / The Creative Writing Competition received 2025, which the UAE Council for the Books of Youngs, received the campaign “Read, dream, invented” this year 176 participants presented by 139 students compared to 53 participants in the 2024 session, which reflects the success of the competition directed to the age group from 6 to 18 years in establishing its position as an active national initiative to care for emerging literary talents.

The competition witnessed a diversity in the geographical distribution of the participants, as the capital Abu Dhabi topped the list with 38 posts, followed by Sharjah with 36 posts, then Dubai with 29 posts and Fujairah with 18 posts, along with separate posts from the rest of the state emirates.

The participants included stories written by children of various Arab nationalities and Arabic speakers of some foreign nationalities and export children who hold the nationality of the UAE participating with 58 participants, followed by 24 participants of Syrian nationality and 20 Egyptian nationality.

The 143 acceptable posts were distributed in three age groups, as the Great Category (13-18 years) acquired the largest number of posts by 54 posts and then medium (10-12 years) with 49 posts followed by the minor category (6-9 years) with 40 posts.

Marwa Al -Aqroubi, Chairman of the Council, said that the creative writing competition is one of the most important tools to strengthen the link between the child and the Arabic language and nurture his ability to think critical and build his personality.

Participants will be evaluated by a specialized committee that includes writers, academics and experts in child literature according to accurate criteria.

The winner of each age group receives a financial prize of 3000 dirhams in addition to a selection of books and a certificate of appreciation. The winning stories are also published on the campaign website to encourage the winners to continue writing.
